Last Week of Early Voting for November 3rd General Election:

What Hamilton County Voters Need to Know

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio – With Election Day fast approaching, this is the last week to vote early for the Tuesday, November 3rd General Election.

The last day to request an Absentee Vote by Mail ballot is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27th. Voters can download a Vote by Mail Application (sample attached) on the Board of Elections website (votehamiltoncountyohio.gov) or can come to the Board office to complete an application. Return the application by mail or in person at the Board office in Norwood (4700 Smith Road). Applications must be received by 8:30pm on Tuesday, October 27th. The Early Vote Center will also be open extended hours on October 27th (7:30am-8:30pm) for early in-person voting and to accept Vote by Mail applications.

Ohio voting identification requirements have not changed for this election. Click HERE to view the Acceptable ID Chart for Voting (attached). Please note that Ohio’s new mobile ID is not valid identification for voting purposes.

I have my Vote by Mail ballot - what do I do now? Once you have your ballot, you have two different options to return your voted ballot to the BOE:

  1. Mail your ballot back to the Board of Elections with $1.11 in postage (or 2 Forever stamps). Mailed ballots must be received at the Board of Elections by close of polls (7:30pm) on Election Day (Tuesday, November 3rd) to be counted.
  2. Save the cost of postage and drop off your ballot in our 24/7 Drop Box at the Board of Elections. Vote by Mail ballots returned in person must be received at the Board by the deadline of 7:30pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd.

* The 24/7 Drop Box is available only to voters returning their own personal ballot. Voters returning a ballot on behalf of a family member or a person with a disability must return those ballots in the Board’s main office, during business hours, and must complete a Ballot Delivery Attestation (Form 12-P).

The Early Vote Center offers extended hours for the last week of early voting (an Election Calendar is attached):

  • Monday, October 26th from 7:30am to 7:30pm
  • Tuesday October 27th from 7:30am to 8:30pm
  • Wednesday-Friday, October 28th – 30th, from 7:30am to 7:30pm
  • Saturday, October 31st from 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • Sunday, November 1st from 1:00pm to 5:00pm (LAST day of early voting)

“Beat the crowds and vote early this election,” said Raquel Burgos, Deputy Director. “Early Voting is a quick and easy way to cast your ballot on your own schedule.”

Director Sherry Poland wants to remind voters, “If you or someone you know plans to vote by mail this election, request your ballot TODAY! We are very close to the deadline to receive applications.”
