Last Week of Early Voting for March Presidential Primary: What Hamilton County Voters Need to Know

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio – With Election Day fast approaching, voters will want to be aware of several upcoming deadlines for the Tuesday, March 19th Presidential Primary.
The last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, March 12th. Voters can find the Application to request a Vote by Mail ballot on the Board of Elections website. Voters may return the application by mail or in person at the BOE. Applications must be received by 8:30pm on Tuesday, March 12th.

The BOE office and Early Vote Center will be open extended hours on the 12th (7:30am-8:30 pm) to accept applications. Deputy Director, Alex Linser stated, “Whether you vote by mail or at the Board’s Early Vote Center, don’t miss out on your last few chances to vote early!”

I have my Vote by Mail ballot! What do I do now? Once you have your ballot, you have two different options to get your voted ballot back to the BOE:

1.  Save the cost of postage and drop off your ballot in our 24-hour, drive-through drop box. You will find the drop box in front of the BOE main office at 4700 Smith Rd, Norwood, OH 45212. You must drop it off by the deadline of 7:30 pm on Election Day, March 19th.

2. Mail your ballot back to the Board of Elections with 68 cents of postage. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Monday, March 18th – and received at the Board by Saturday March 23rd.

The Early Vote Center offers extended hours for the last week of early voting:

•  Monday, March 11th from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
•   Tuesday March 12th from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm
•  Wednesday-Friday, March 13-15 from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
•  Saturday, March 16th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
•   Sunday, March 17th from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm (LAST day of early voting)

Director Sherry Poland wants to remind voters, “To cast a ballot at the Early Vote Center or at a neighborhood polling place on Election Day, voters must bring a valid, unexpired, form of ID with them.”
