HAMILTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
MEETING HELD
JUNE 30, 2022 at 4:30PM

The Special meeting of the Hamilton County Board of Elections was called to order at 4:30pm. Present were members Ms. McFarlin, Mr. Gerhardt and Mr. Mallory. Also present: Director Sherry Poland and Deputy Director Alex Linser; David Stevenson and Jesse Daley with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s office.

It was noted that proper notice was duly provided as required by O.R.C. 121.22. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

I. DISCUSSION: PENDING LITIGATION
STATE OF OHIO EX REL. JENNIFER GIROUX V. HAMILTON COUNTY BOE ET. AL.

The Board was advised that Staff is in receipt of a Court Order and Directive from the Ohio Secretary of State. A Judge in the Court of Common Pleas in Hamilton County ruled that Jennifer Giroux’s petition for the Office of State Representative in the 27th District was timely filed and ordered the Board to accept the petition and certify her to the ballot if she otherwise qualifies. Staff has reviewed the part petitions and found them to be sufficient. The Board is Directed to Certify Ms. Giroux to the August 2, 2022 Ballot per Secretary of State Directive 22-39.

Mr. Mallory made a motion to certify Jenn Giroux to the August 2, 2022 ballot pursuant to Secretary of State Directive and Court Order; Mr. Gerhardt seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Mallory made a motion to adjourn; Mr. Gerhardt seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
