HAMILTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
MEETING HELD
DECEMBER 27, 2021 at 8:30AM
The special meeting of the Hamilton County Board of Elections was called to order at 8:30am. Present were members Ms. McFarlin, Mr. Triantafilou, Mr. Gerhardt and Mr. Mallory. Also present: Director Sherry Poland and Deputy Director Alex Linser; David Stevenson and Jesse Daley with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s office.
It was noted that proper notice was duly provided as required by O.R.C. 121.22. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
- DISCUSSION AND APPROVAL: REDISTRICTING AND PRECINCT REALIGNMENTS
The Board was advised that Staff has made a thorough review of the new census data and precinct boundary lines. Christa Criddle presented the following for discussion and approval:
- Changes due to Census Block Changes:
- Reading 3A (precinct 4631) to Reading 3B (precinct 4632):
3 voters on East Crest St.
- Anderson V (precinct 5622) to Anderson L (precinct 5612):
87 voters on Coral Sea Dr; Shangrila Dr.; Ticonderoga Ct.
- Lincoln Heights A (precinct 7701) to Lincoln Heights B (precinct 7702):
6 voters on Villas Circle
- Newtown B (precinct 8402) to Newtown A (precinct 8401):
11 voters
- Symmes E (precinct 9105) to Symmes B (precinct 9102):
6 voters on Tanagerhills Dr.
- Changes to make Precincts Contiguous:
- Colerain F & BB:
Ripple; Wesselman and Harrison (precinct BB 5828) to Precinct F 5906
Kepler (precinct F 5906) to Precinct BB 5928
- Symmes J to Symmes H
Montgomery and Union Cemetery (precinct J 9110) to Precinct H 9108
- Other Changes:
- Newtown A (precinct 8401) to Anderson I (Precinct 5609):
Voters on Newtown Rd
- Milford A (precinct 3901): 25 voters total
Eliminating Columbia Precincts I, J and K
9 voters from Columbia I (6209)
2 voters from Columbia J (6210)
8 voters from Columbia K (6211)
Note: Columbia precinct L will be renamed to Precinct I for continuity in numbering sequence.
The Board was advised that once redistricting is complete all voters will receive notification; the changes set forth today will be visible on the website.
Mr. Triantafilou made a motion to approve the Staff recommendation of Precinct realignments; Mr. Mallory seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Triantafilou made a motion to adjourn; Mr. Mallory seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
