Last Week of Early Voting for the November 4th General Election: What Hamilton County Voters Need to Know
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio – With Election Day fast approaching, this is the last week to vote early for the Tuesday, November 4th General Election.
The last day to request an Absentee Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, October 28th. Voters can download a Vote by Mail Application (sample attached) on the Board of Elections website (votehamiltoncountyohio.gov) or can call the Board (513-946-8500) to request an application. Return the application by mail or in person at the Board office in Norwood (4700 Smith Road). Applications must be received by 8:30pm on Tuesday, October 28th. The Early Vote Center will also be open extended hours on October 28th (7:30am-8:30pm) for early in-person voting and to accept Vote by Mail applications.
Ohio voting identification requirements have not changed for this election. Click HERE to view the Acceptable ID Chart for Voting (attached). Please note that Ohio’s new mobile ID is not valid identification for voting purposes.
I have my Vote by Mail ballot - what do I do now? Once you have your ballot, you have two different options to return your voted ballot to the BOE:
- Mail your ballot back to the Board of Elections with $.78 cents in postage (or 1 Forever stamp) for a 1-page ballot; or $1.07 in postage (or 2 Forever stamps) for a 2-page ballot. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Monday, November 3rd – and received at the Board by Saturday, November 8th.
- Save the cost of postage and drop off your ballot in our 24/7 Drop Box* at the Board of Elections. Vote by Mail ballots returned in person must be received at the Board by the deadline of 7:30pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th.
* The 24/7 Drop Box is available only to voters returning their own personal ballot. Voters returning a ballot on behalf of a family member or a person with a disability must return those ballots in the Board’s main office, during business hours, and must complete a Ballot Delivery Attestation (Form 12-P).
The Early Vote Center offers extended hours for the last week of early voting (An Election Calendar is attached):
- Monday, October 27th from 7:30am to 7:30pm
- Tuesday October 28th from 7:30am to 8:30pm
