Last Week of Early Voting for November 2023 Election: What Hamilton County Voters Need to Know
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio – With Election Day fast approaching (Tuesday, November 7, 2023), there are several deadlines for voters to be aware of.
The last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, October 31st! Voters can find the application to request a Vote by Mail ballot on the Board of Elections website. Voters may return the application by mail or in person at the BOE. Applications must be received by 8:30pm on Tuesday, October 31st. The BOE office and Early Vote Center will be open late on the 31st until 8:30 p.m. to accept applications. Deputy Director, Alex Linser stated, “The real scare would be if voters forgot that the deadline to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot is 8:30pm on Halloween night.”
I have my Vote by Mail ballot! What do I do now? Once you have your ballot, you have two different options to get your ballot back to the BOE:
- Save the cost of postage and drop off your ballot in our 24-hour, drive-through drop box. You will find the drop box in front of the BOE main office at 4700 Smith Rd, Norwood, OH 45212. You must drop it off by the deadline of 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 7th.
- Mail your ballot back to the Board of Elections with 90 cents of postage. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Monday, November 6th.
The Early Vote Center offers extended hours for the last week of early voting (Election Calendar attached):
- Monday, October 30th from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday October 31st from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday-Friday, November 1st-3rd from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, November 4th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Sunday, November 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Director Sherry Poland wants to remind voters, “To cast your ballot at the Early Vote Center or at your neighborhood polling place on Election Day, voters must bring an unexpired, acceptable form of ID with them.” Click here to view the Acceptable ID Chart (attached) for Voting in Person Early or on Election Day.
